Welcome to Sylvania Franciscan Health
Sylvania Franciscan Health facilities provide vital healthcare services to communities in Ohio, Kentucky and Texas. With over 6,300 employees and growing, our tightly associated network of hospitals, ambulatory care centers, independent senior housing, assisted living facilities and rehabilitation centers are trusted by thousands of patients and respected leaders in the communities we serve.
Sylvania Franciscan Health system is actively executing a thoughtfully planned strategic expansion of our regional presence. Most recently, in Texas, we added Bellville St. Joseph Health Center. And, our Trinity Health Region in eastern Ohio now operates Trinity Hospital Twin City, a critical access facility in Dennison, Ohio.
Sylvania Franciscan Health system is sponsored by the Sisters of St. Francis of Sylvania, Ohio and is guided by our Mission and Core Values.
In the Catholic tradition, Sylvania Franciscan Health enthusiastically demonstrates our heartfelt commitment to caring for the poor and underserved. In 2012, the system contributed over $103 million in charity care to the communities we serve.
Sylvania Franciscan Health Signs Definitive Agreement with Catholic Health Initiatives
Sylvania Franciscan Health (SFH) has signed a Definitive Agreement with Catholic Health Initiatives (CHI)—the second to last step in SFH becoming a part of CHI. This agreement is a formal confirmation that CHI would like us to join their health system, which spans almost 20 states and includes over 100 hospitals and continuing care retirement communities. Jim Pope, SFH’s CEO, says, “CHI and SFH are well-aligned in our missions and values, making this partnership one that brings together two strong, complementary organizations.” We look forward to navigating the new era of health care with CHI.
